An ultra-compact, robust digital pressure and temperature sensor

A growing number of miniaturised consumer devices, such as swim watches and diving equipment require high-performance and pinpoint precision. For these, there is a corresponding need to incorporate sensors that are highly robust and accurate.

In order to address this increasing demand, TE Connectivity (TE), a developer and manufacturer of connectivity and sensors, has released the MS5839-02BA, an ultra-compact, chlorine resistant digital pressure and temperature sensor.

Excellent sensing accuracy and robustness

The MS5839 is a digital altimeter that offers advanced water resistance, chlorine resistance, low power consumption and digital interconnectivity in an ultra-compact. It delivers a sensing accuracy for both pressure (±0.5mbar) and temperature (±2°C) measurements.


The gel-filled design of the MS5839 enables operation in harsh environments while providing accurate and reliable digital measurements.

All these features make this sensor ideal for applications where chlorine and saline are present in the water. Its robustness also prevents the circuit of wearable from getting damaged while swimming or shallow diving.

The sensor measures 3.3 x 3.3 x 2.75 mm. Overall, the MS5839 promises to provide a high-end, water-proof solution in an ultra-compact size.
