Raztec has recently introduced a new addition to its current sensor series. According to the company, the device can measure an open-loop current of up to 250A. The sensor is built within a diameter of 10mm. The hole through the sensor is 5.1mm in diameter. This protrusion reduces the maximum allowable round cable size to 4.5 mm.
Offers custom versions of the current sensor
RAZC consists of multiple devices that can provide current sensing between 40A up to a maximum of 250A. The company also offers custom versions according to the need of specific industries. The device features a bandwidth of up to 200 kHz. Also, it provides a standard rise time of up to five microseconds for a step increase between 0 to 20A.
The firm in a recent statement talked about the new sensor saying,
“ The toroidal current sensor simply encircles a motor connection. Galvanic isolation completely eliminates common mode effects and true armature current is accurately measured. The output of the sensor is near rail to rail so no amplification is required – current signals can be fed directly to an A/D. ”
Sense current between motor windings
