New design tool can automatically detect dangling connections in a PCB schematic design

RS Components (RS) has recently introduced the latest version for its free-for-use Design Spark PCB electronics CAD software. One of the unique features included in the newer version, is the detection of dangling connections in a schematic design. The software can also enhance NC drill files. This provides accuracy to the drill files .PCB engraver machines use these files to fabricating PCB’s from copper clad sheets.
A free-to-use rapid PCB prototyping tool
According to RS, Design Spark PCB software is a set of free-to-use rapid PCB prototyping tools. It offers the user to design free-size schematics. Additionally, the user can also access unlimited layers, nodes and pad connections. The software comes integrated with component libraries of different manufacturers. This tool also allows the user to design custom libraries and integrate it with Design Spark systems.
The company also informed that the PCB schematics and files created in Design Spark can also be imported into Design Spark PCB Pro software. This software is a paid software packed with professional design tools. Users can use the pro version when a complex set of design rules and characteristics are required for the PCB design.
Can detect dangling connections in a PCB design
This new version has a very unique add-on to the present design tool. The designers can now have a report of the dangling connections. A dangling connection can be any component pin where a net has been generated but not completed. In addition to this feature, the designers can also select nets located within a specific copper pour area. This benefits the designer in selecting a proper area to be etched while fabricating the PCB.
These features can help in increasing the design accuracy of the PCB schematics.
