New STM8 Nucleo Boards from STMicroelectronics feature Arduino Uno connectors for upgrading 8-bit projects
ST has unveiled two new STM8 Nucleo-64 boards that provide an affordable and flexible way for users to try out new
concepts and build prototypes with the STM8 8-bit microcontroller. The development boards contain Arduino Uno connectors that simplify functional expansion and make product creation fluid and flexible, with access to the vast ecosystem of open-source Arduino-compatible shields.
The two STM8 Nucleo boards are supported by the Cosmic IDEA toolchain, the IAR EWSTM8 IDE, and ST’s free STVD IDE. A key benefit is that each board integrates the ST-LINK/V2-1 debugger and programmer, so developers will not require any separate probe for debugging/programming.
“Developers have the freedom to adjust or optimize hardware and software at any time thereby eliminating risk and helping minimize time to market”, ST said.
The NUCLEO-8S208RB and NUCLEO-8L152R8 boards (64-pin STM8S208 and STM8L152 MCUs respectively) are available now, priced from $10.32.
