GSS’ small and robust CO2 sensor measures concentrations of up to 100% in CO2 detection devices
Hundreds of industries worldwide rely on the ability to accurately monitor and measure carbon dioxide (CO2) gas —whether it is restaurants and fast food establishments, breweries and refineries, or agriculture and laboratories.
For the growing market of CO2 monitoring and measurement systems, CO2Meter has recently added the iSense alarm (CM-0052) to its range of CO2 alarms, that can handle up to 100 percent concentrations of CO2. This device uses Gas Sensing Solutions’ (GSS) ExplorIR-W LED-based CO2 sensor to measure concentrations of up to 100% for specific industry applications. The company noted that the sensors are manufactured with LEDs – rather than using a heated source of IR – making them small, robust and enable them to provide almost instant readings.
iSense 100 Percent CO2 sampling logger alarm
The iSense alarm is suitable for both permanent and temporary installations in industrial applications. It can be used for a range of different processes, including monitoring and control, long-range data collection, sampling inspections, remote deployment and CO2 leak detection. The device is ideal for use in industrial settings, such as MAP applications, fermentation vats and barrels, biological incubators and agricultural storage.
GSS manufactures a range of sensors – under the ExplorIR and SprintIR brands – that are capable of reading up to 100% CO2 concentrations.

Having this solution has enabled us to extend our reach in specific industry applications, as very few monitors can measure up to 100%.”, the company said.
The company also showcased a product using the iSense CO2 alarm being used in an application for Controlled Atmospheric Packaging. The alarm was paired with its hypodermic needle kit to make a complete solution for testing head space gas composition in modified atmosphere packaging.
