Power Inductors for Power Density Applications


Low-profile power inductors suitable for DC-DC converters using switching frequencies up to 3 MHz as well as EMI and low pass DC filters

To meet the performance and reliability level that automotive and industrial applications demand, power inductors with desired efficiency and functions are required. TT electronics have announced the introduction of H66 series of SMD power inductors for use in power density applications where size is critical.

Wide range of inductances and low DC resistance

The HA66 series is a low profile, ferrite-based inductor designed with a wide range of inductances and package sizes. The series comprises a range of 38 inductors with inductance ratings from 2.5µH to 220µH, DC resistances from 0.018Ω to 0.820Ω and Irms values from 1.22A to 11.2A. The inductors are available in two case sizes,  5.7mm x 5.7mm x 3 mm and 6.7mm x 6.7mm x 4mm.


The inductors are magnetically shielded, they have low DC resistance and feature a saturation current of 4.4A maximum.  Able to withstand varied temperatures, the parts have an operating temperature range of –40°C to +125°C, an ambient temperature maximum of 85 °C, a maximum temperature rise of 40°C, and are able to meet an operating temperature of 155°C.


The product finds usage in the performance critical applications, like in the transportation field which includes powertrain, engine control, transmission control, LED driver, ABS(Anti Braking System),  EPS (Event Processing System), radar systems, and camera control systems. The inductors are RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant and are appropriate for use in automation systems as well as DC-DC converters.
