Panasonic has developed a new high temperature, long life Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) battery. With a discharge range of -40°C to 85°C, the new BK1100FHU is suitable for applications requiring high capacity in a wide range of temperatures.
The new F-size model can be used in a variety of applications, such as renewable energy applications (including solar street lights), tracking devices, light electronic vehicles, buoys, and UPS (uninterruptible power systems).
Offering about 1.5 times the capacity of same size standard Nickel-Cadmium batteries, Panasonic says these batteries meet the requirement for increasingly higher levels of energy demanded by today’s products. With increased capacity and energy density features, users can expect a longer run time between charges and a long life.
Panasonic plans to make available the first samples from the 2nd quarter of 2017. For more information, view the full Press release.
