Here is the world’s first smartwatch that uses thermoelectric technology so you never have to recharge or replace its battery. The new Matrix PowerWatch from Matrix Industries can run exclusively on heat generated from the body, and also measures calories burned and shows power generated from the body.
New thermoelectric platform technology now makes it possible to power a wide range of products without the need for replaceable batteries or an external power source.
The new device employs breakthrough nano-materials, advanced thermal engineering, and the latest in low power electronics to run exclusively off heat generated from the body, the firm said.
The smartwatch is made from a rugged aircraft-grade aluminium. The watch can wirelessly sync with your smartphone and send all the data using a smartphone app for iOS and Android. The device also offers changeable watch faces, which can display how much energy a body is generating and power generated for the day.
The device features advanced activity, sleep, calorie and power tracking functionality and stores up to a year’s worth of data. It automatically goes into sleep mode once it is taken off, keeps all the data in memory, and turns on after a few seconds when it is put back on.
The watch comes with a high contrast display, a military-grade nylon strap, and is water resistant up to 50 meters.
“Our thermal energy harvesting technology, together with state-of-the-art sensor fusion algorithms, enables very accurate calorie counting,” says Douglas Tham, co-founder and CTO of Matrix.
Matrix PowerWatch is available now for pre order at Indiegogo and will retail for $169.99 and will ship in July, 2017. Get more details at: www.matrixindustries.com.
