TDK Corporation announces new 120W isolated DC-DC converters ideal for use in COTS (Commercial off the Shelf), vehicle, airborne, communications and harsh industrial applications.
Available in an industry standard 1/4 brick pinout, the TDK-Lambda HQA120 converters offer efficiencies up to 89% at 24Vdc input.
The HQA120 converters have been qualified with methods consistent with MIL-STD-883 and MIL-STD-202 for use in COTS and harsh environment industrial equipment.
The products accept a wide range DC input of 9V to 40V, and are available with 12V, 24V and 28V outputs. The converters are able to withstand a 50V surge for 10 seconds.
A choice of two grades is offered: -S for standard industrial applications or -M using wide temperature, high grade components and additional product testing for enhanced reliability.
The converters attain typical efficiencies of up to 89%, and minimise internal heating allowing them to operate in high ambient temperatures of up to 115 deg C.
No opto-couplers are used in the design and the switching frequency is fixed at 270 kHz for simplified noise filtering.
The converters are available in an industry standard five pin quarter brick footprint. Two versions are offered: a flanged version measuring 2.39” x 2.2” x 0.5” and a non-flanged version measuring 2.39” x 1.54” x 0.5”.
The converters are safety certified to UL/CSA/EN 60950-1 (2nd edition), carrying the CE mark in accordance with the LV Directive and RoHS Directives.
