Amplifier Combines High Linearity With Low Noise For Wireless Infrastructure


RFMW announced a cascadable high-linearity amplifier spanning 0.5 to 6GHz frequency band in a small 2 x 2 mm surface-mount package. Offering high linearity and/or good noise figure, the TQL9062 can be used in both receiver and transmitter chains for high performance systems such as repeaters, distributed antenna systems, defense communications and wireless infrastructure applications where efficiency and range are important.

The gain block is internally matched using a high performance E-pHEMT process and only requires four external components for operation from a single positive supply, an external RF choke and blocking/bypass capacitors. This low noise amplifier contains an internal active bias circuit to maintain high performance over temperature and integrates a shut-down capability to allow for operation in TDD applications.

The amplifier typically provides a Noise Figure of 1.5dB, a mid-band gain of 15.5dB and OIP3 of >40dBm .
