RFMW announced a high-linearity, quarter watt power amplifier in a low-cost surface-mount package. The Qorvo TQP9218 is targeted for small cell or enterprise Femtocell basestation applications, distributed antenna systems, repeaters and/or booster amplifiers.

The TQP9218 provides 31 dB gain and +24.5 dBm linear power over the 1.805 – 1.880 GHz frequency range. This amplifier is able to achieve -48 dBc ACLR at +24.5 dBm output power using 20 MHz LTE signal without the need for external linearization, claims the company.

The power amplifier integrates two high performance amplifier stages onto a module to allow for a compact system design and requires very few external components for operation. Running from a nominal 4.5V supply, the amplifier is bias adjustable allowing the amplifier’s power consumption to be optimized.

The new device is available in a lead-free/RoHS-compliant 7 x 7 mm surface mount package. Samples of the new device are available.
