Amimon announced the Connex Mini, a new lightweight drone-video transmission system improving on the original Connex released last year. The device is aimed at a growing number of smaller, lighter aerial drones.
The wireless HD video transmitter packs interesting features such as full HD video quality, zero-latency, digital transmission reliability, encrypted transmission for live and sensitive shots, and multicasting functionality at distances up to 1600 feet (500 meters).
“We are already receiving fantastic feedback on the new CONNEX mini HD video link from resellers and users alike,” said CEO, Amimon. “We believe this new addition to the CONNEX line of HD wireless video transmission solutions opens up a whole new realm of aerial video applications.”
The CONNEX mini transmitter measures only 65 x 45 x 15mm, and weighs only 40 grams. The receiver measures just 100 x 71 x 18mm and weighs only 140 grams.
Despite its small size, the device includes: full 1080p HD video at 60 frames per second without any signal degradation, zero latency, a range of 1600 feet (500m), and AES 128 encryption for secure transmission. It also provides telemetry and control solutions for S-bus, CANBUS and PPM drone controllers, and features an HDMI video interface on the receiver.
The multicast functionality allows a pilot to steer and position the drone. Precise shot framing can be acheived which increases production efficiency saving both time and money. For ease of use, the device is compatible with Amimon’s powerful App which is available for Windows, Android and Apple laptops. The App makes it even easier to set-up and manage the product.
