Enargy Power announced the release of the new BM60 series of ultra-thin profile BladeAdapter for powering medical devices. Measuring just 127 x 65 x 22mm (5.0 x 2.56 x 0.87in), the enclosure is 34 per cent thinner and has 28 per cent less volume than typical 60W medical adapters available in the market today.
To meet the more severe EMC immunity requirements for home healthcare and emergency medical environments, the new the BM60 series adapter is compliant with the new 4th Edition of IEC60601-1-2:2014, which becomes effective in February of 2016.
Additionally, the products have less than 200mW no load power consumption and average efficiencies from 89 per cent to 92 per cent on 12V output models, to successfully satisfy the new US Department of Energy Level VI energy efficiency requirements.
Operating over a universal input voltage range of 90- to 264-Vac with dc outputs available from 5- to 53.5-Vdc, the BM60 series has 11 standard output voltages representing the broadest portfolio available. These include 5-, 9-, 12-, 15-, 18-, 19-, 24-, 28-, 36-, 48- and 53.5-Vdc options. The adapters are specified for operation up to 60 degrees C with derating.
The devices deliver a peak power rating of 90W for up to one second making them particularly well suited for driving motors and pumps with highly capacitive and inductive loads, such as CPAP & BPAP breathing devices. All units have 4000V reinforced isolation and are IP22 waterproof rated.
Protection features include OVP, OCP, OTP and short-circuit protection. The BM60 products will be medically certified with 2xMOPP isolation, qualified to UL/IEC/EN60950-1, IEC60601-1, IEC/EN62368-1, GB4943, IEC 695-2-2 (UL94V-0) safety standards, and carry the CE and RoHS6 markings. Additionally, the units are shipped with an IEC320-C8, 2-wire ac line cord.
