CCD Image Sensor brings High-resolution in Demanding Imaging Applications


ON Semiconductor releases a new high-performance CCD (charge coupled device) image sensor designed to meet highest level image quality in astrophotography and scientific imaging applications. Available in a RoHS-compliant CERDIP package, the KAF-16200 is a 16.2 megapixel (MP) sensor to cater a wide range of both color and monochrome image sensing applications.

Utilizing a Full Frame CCD architecture, the device offers best in class image uniformity and dark current. High sensitivity is gained by using 6.0 µm square pixels and a transparent gate electrode. Each pixel contains anti−blooming protection to prevent image corruption during high light level conditions. Additionally, the sensor provides high resolution imagery in an APS-H (34.6 mm diagonal) optical format along with high dynamic range and low noise.
