The newly launched LED devices from Vishay has been designed to provide energy-saving replacement for mercury lamps in medical, industrial, and printing applications.
According to the press release, the VLMU3500-385-060 and VLMU3500-385-120 are the first two devices in a new series of ceramic-based, high-power UV LEDs with silicone lenses that deliver long lifetimes compared to that of mercury lamps. Built on InGaN (indium gallium nitride) technology, the devices feature typical radiant power of 780 mW at 500mA and 1037mW at 700mA in a wavelength range between 380nm and 390nm, as mentioned in the release. In addition to this, the VLMU3500-385-060 offers an emission angle of 60° while the VLMU3500-385-120 has an emission angle of 120°. It also provide radiant intensity of 730 mW/sr and 390 mW/sr at 700 mA, respectively as stated in the release.
According to Vishay, the devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, adhere to Vishay Green and exhibit moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of two in accordance with J-STD-020.
