The advanced HMI machines at point-of-sales, information kiosk and more to have larger screen displays for better viewing. This can be realised using the latest EVE (Embedded Video Engine) devices, as mentioned in the FTDI press release. EVE provides a high quality graphic solution with 3-in-1 functionality for graphical user interface (GUI) development.
Building on the success of the first generation of FT80x touch controller ICs with Embedded Video Engine (EVE) technology, the series has now been extended to include a further four devices which offer a plethora of improvements and extended capabilities, the FT81x series. The FT810, FT811, FT812 and FT813 provide increased pixel resolution for sharper imagery, increased speed for faster data transfer and image/video loading, and larger memory capacity, as stated in the release.
Adding further the release highlights that the new EVE devices support higher maximum screen resolutions than previously possible – increasing from the 512×512 pixels of the company’s FT80x series and offering up to 800×600 pixels, in order to address larger displays (7-inches and above).
