New Nanopower Converter For Low-Power Battery Applications


The newly launched nanopower converter from Linear Technology is an ideal solution for a wide variety of low power-battery applications such as remote sensors and monitors and more.

According to the press release, the LTC3335, is a nanopower high efficiency synchronous buck-­boost converter with an on-board precision coulomb counter. Adding further, “It delivers up to 50mA of continuous output current with only 680nA of quiescent current and programmable peak input currents from 5mA up to 250mA.”

The LTC3335 includes four internal low R MOSFETs and can deliver efficiency of up to 90 per cent, as mentioned. The other features include a programmable discharge alarm threshold, an I²C interface for accessing coulomb count and device programming, a power good output, and eight selectable peak input currents.


Adding further, the LTC3335 operating junction temperature ranges from ­40°C to 125°C.

Available in both E and I grade with a 20­lead 3mm x 4mm QFN package, the device is worldwide available with price starting from US$ 3.35 each, for 1000 piece quantities, as stated in the company release.
