Processors Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions Upto 50 Per Cent

Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions from personal computing upto 50 per cent by upgarding to the latest AMD processors. According to Carbon Footprint, research reveals dramatic environmental benefits of energy-efficient ‘Carrizo’ processor compared to that of previous generation of processors.

As the companies are becoming more sensitive towards reducing greenhouse gas emission, Mark Papermaster, senior vice president and chief technology officer, AMD, said, “Creating low-power, energy efficient products is a key element of our business strategy, and in turn, we are working alongside our customers to reduce the environmental footprint of technology while relentlessly improving performance.”

The sixth Generation AMD A-Series APU is the first product introduced under the 25 x 20 initiative and represents a huge leap in energy efficiency for AMD mobile APUs, as mentioned. Adding further, in 2014, AMD announced an ambitious goal of improving the typical use energy efficiency of its mobile APUs by 25 times by 2020, from a 2014 baseline. Meeting the 25x  20 target requires increasing the pace of efficiency gains by using new power management features and innovative designs.
