According to the press release, Microchip offers the PIC32MZ embedded connectivity with floating point unit (EF) family starter kit (DM320007 for non-Crypto development or DM320007-C for Crypto development) that provides a low-cost method for the development and testing of USB and Ethernet based applications with PIC32MZ EF family devices.
The development board features two Mini-B USB ports, one for debugging and one for USB-toUART or I2C communications, a Standard-A USB port for the embedded host and a Micro-AB USB Host/Device/OTG port. The PHY daughter board features an RJ-45 Ethernet port for network connectivity.
Adding further, the PIC32MZ EF series is also featured in the new version of the Arduino compatible Digilent chipKIT Wi-FIRE development board. This board provides easy access to professional applications and libraries targeting new PIC32 users. It enables them with rapid-prototype development and eases migration into professional integrated development environments, such as Microchip’s MPLAB X IDE.
According to Microchip there, are four new PIC32MZ EF development tools available today. The complete, turn-key PIC32MZ Embedded Connectivity with FPU EF Starter Kit (Part # DM320007) is priced at US $119; the PIC32MZ Embedded connectivity with Floating Point Unit and Crypto Starter Kit (Part # DM320007-C) is available for US$ 119; while the PIC32MZ2048EF PIM Explorer 16 Plug In Module (Part # MA320019) and the PIC32MZ EF Audio 144-pin PIM for Bluetooth Audio Development Kit (Part # MA320018)ares priced at US$ 25 each.
