Powered by hardware encryption accelerator-enabled MCUs, the Crypto Connected LaunchPad from TI enables you to develop high-performance, data protected, connected IoT applications from secure cloud connection, building/factory automation and smartgrid to industrial controls.
According to the press release, “The TM4C129E Crypto Connected LaunchPad evaluation kit is a low-cost platform for ARM Cortex-M4-based microcontrollers. The kit design highlights the TM4C129ENCPDT MCU with on-chip Crypto acceleration hardware, 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY, USB 2.0, hibernation module, motion control pulse-width modulation and a multitude of simultaneous serial connectivity.”
In addition, designers also have access to a complimentary download of TI’s Code Composer Studio integrated development environment (IDE), an intuitive programming interface and debugging tool, as mentioned in the release.
The TM4C Crypto Connected LaunchPad (EK-TM4C129EXL) is worldwide available for US$ 24.99 which can be procured through the TI Store and authorised TI distributors.
The key features and advantages of the LaunchPad are as highlighted below:
- Advanced security features for data encryption and decryption include on-board Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Data Encryption Standard (DES), Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) and Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) accelerators to increase performance in secure connected applications. Additionally, WolfSSL library utilises these crypto hardware accelerators to allow a secure SSL/TLS connection with the cloud server.
