The newly launched 2W and 4W power amplifiers designed for high power applications from Macom deliver better performance and flexibility. These amplifiers are ideally suited for the next generation Ka-Band VSAT systems.
According to press release, both MAAP-011246 and MAAP-011139-DIE are 4 stage, 2W and 4W power amplifiers respectively sutibale for applications such as Ka-Band SATCOM. As mentioned in the release, MAAP-011246 operates from 27.5GHz to 31.5GHz and provides 23dB of linear gain, 2W saturated output power and 24 per cent efficiency, whereas MAAP-011139-DIE operates from 29GHz to 31GHz and provides 24dB of linear gain, 4W saturated output power, and 23 per cent efficiency, while biased at 6V.
Both these amplifiers are available in 5mm x 5mm 32-lead QFN package, as mentioned in the release.
“The superior linearity performance of the MAAP-011246 and MAAP-011139 are further complemented by their high- gain, power added efficiency and availability in SMT QFN packages,” said Paul Beasly, Product Manager, MACOM.
