e.MMC Storage Solution For Industrial Applications

The new embedded Multi-Media Card (e.MMC) for advanced industrial applications exhibit Automatic Sleep Mode and Quick Health for enhanced performance. The Automatic Sleep Mode enables the memory to enter a sleep state after a brief period of inactivity offering reduced power consumption, while Quick Health info helps to monitor the erase count enhancing the performance of device.

Recently, Transcend announced the launch of the new EMC210 e.MMC storage solution. According to the press release, “The Embedded Flash Drive (EFD) is designed for industrial applications such as embedded system, vehicle entertainment system, GPS, games, email, Office, etc. It is a hybrid device featuring high performance, high storage capacities and small form factor which combines an embedded thin flash controller and standard MLC NAND flash memory. Transcends EMC210 supports industrial standard e.MMC 4.51 interface.”

The key features of eMMC are listed below:

  • e.MMC Specification Ver. 4.51 comply with JEDEC standards
  • Supports three data bus widths: 1-bit (default), 4-bit, 8-bit
  • Uses an embedded thin memory controller and MLC NAND flash
  • Mechanical design complies with JESD84-C44 Specification
  • Dual power system
  • Core voltage (VCC) 2.7V-3.6V
  • I/O (VCCQ) voltage: either 1.7-1.95V or 2.7-3.6V
  • Variable clock frequencies of 0-200 MHz
  • BCH ECC: 53bit/1KB
  • RoHS compliant
