TDK Corporation unveils miniature multilayer inductor series for automotive power circuits. These inductors claim excellent electrical performance and broad operating temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C, making them suitable for automotive applications, especially in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), where they help enable even smaller cameras.
The MLD2012 inductors are also suitable for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and telematics systems as well as in the various automotive ECUs and modules.
The new components that are based on a ferrite core are available in a compact IEC 2012 (EIA 0805) package with a footprint of 2.0 mm x 1.25 mm and an insertion height of just 0.5 mm.
Inductance values range from 0.47 µH to 47 µH and rated currents from 750 mA to 1200 mA.
The new inductors feature a multilayer structure in order to achieve low leakage flux.
Mass production of the MLD2012 series started in March 2018.
